Adventures in the Khamar-Daban Mountain Country

Arrival in the village of Novosnezhnaya. Accommodation in the club Snow Geese, rest in the bar Gusyanka, walks in the area, visiting the Russian bathhouse with an open-air font.

Next, our route will take us through the Snezhnaya River valley. This way is laid by Siberian hunters along the taiga trails to the place of confluence of two rivers "Strelka".
The way along the Snezhnaya river will take about an hour - the airboat is able to develop good speed even upstream. Khamar-Daban is often called "Siberian tropics" - here you will see real taiga jungles on the background of mountain ranges.
At the confluence of the Snezhnaya and Selenginka rivers we will leave our boat and take a walk by the picturesque trail to the mouth of the Gramotukha river. It is a turbulent mountain stream with a hiking trail along its course. There are several waterfalls along the river, which all visiting tourists love to visit. The largest waterfall on Gromotukha is Gromhotun. This waterfall is located one kilometer from the river mouth.
Against the background of the waterfall, all visitors to this beautiful place are constantly photographed.
The waterfall falls down almost vertically and falls into a deep cauldron, which water has been painstakingly gouging out over the years.
The next waterfall of the Gramotukha River is above Gromhotun. To get up to it, you need to spend much more time than to the first waterfall (an hour and a half). But upon arrival to the destination, you can be surprised at the harmony and comfort that reigns in these places. There are waterfalls all along the river bed, pools that are surrounded by numerous colored stones.
And at the end of the hike, an outdoor picnic lunch and fishing will be waiting for you. If you are lucky, you will be able to cook aromatic soup from your catch on the campfire!

After breakfast, you'll go to Listvyanka village, which is the hallmark of Baikal! Tourists from all over the world come here to taste Baikal delicacies at the fish market. Here you can also buy various souvenirs representing the products of folk craftsmen. Traditionally, the most delicious fish, which lives only in the waters of Baikal, is considered to be omul.
After the walk along Listvyanka you'll have lunch in one of the restaurants at the lakeside.
