Sable Lakes

Arrival in the village of Novosnezhnaya. Accommodation in the club Snow Geese, rest in the bar Gusyanka, walks in the area, visiting the Russian bathhouse with an open-air font.

Further our route will pass along the Snezhnaya river valley. This route is laid by Siberian hunters along the taiga trails to the place of confluence of two rivers "Strelka".
The way along the Snezhnaya river will take about an hour - the airboat is able to develop good speed even upstream. Khamar-Daban is often called "Siberian tropics" - here you can see real taiga jungles on the background of mountain ranges.
At the confluence of Snezhnaya and Selenginka rivers we will leave our boat and go for a walk by the most picturesque path to Sobolinka lakes. Sobolikha Lake is one of the largest lakes in Khamar-Daban. It is divided into two lakes, Big and Small Sobolinoye, by a duct. The route to the lakes does not require any special physical preparation, which makes it very popular among the hiking tourists.
It will take you 4 hours to get to Sobolinoye Lake. The trail goes out to a clearing where you can admire the beauty of the lake, surrounded by picturesque mountain peaks. The bottomless depth of the lake, the clearest cool water, lots of small rivers flowing down from the mountains, lush vegetation, ringing silence are amazing. If you want you can walk to the waterfall of Fairy Tale.
And at the end of the hike you will have a picnic lunch outdoors and fishing. If you are lucky, you will be able to cook aromatic soup from your catch on the campfire!
